Mahito (真人 - meaning 'true person') is a special grade cursed spirit with a high power level and an even higher amount of cursed energy to pull from.
He is immature and goofy, compared to Gojo by Nanami in this respect. Mahito loves to toy with humans, and his goal is to eradicate them to allow cursed spirits to own the earth. His care for souls is so little, he pretends to not even care if he lives or dies. This is proven a lie when he is weakened by his fight with Yuji, when he admits that he truly is nothing more than a terrified child who doesn't want to die.
Mahito has a variety of cursed techniques, and is shown growing stronger mid-battle on more than one occasion. His cursed techniques include Idle Transfiguration, Soul Multiplicity, Body Repel, Polymorphic Soul Isomer, Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing, Curtain and his domain expansion known as Self-Embodiment of Perfection. Mahito is also able to use Black Flash.

Mahito was born from the collective hatred and fear of other humans that humanity has. I believe this is why Gege named him Mahito in the first place-- he is the truth humans hide from one another about one another.
Both his age and birthday are unknown, but we do know he is 179cm tall. We do know he is a younger curse than Jogo, a curse born from the fear humanity has of the earth.
In the manga Mahito has grey eyes, but in the anime they chose to give him heterochromia with one eye blue, one grey.
